9th Avenue Waterside offers a variety of Venue Hire Packages to suit your needs.

  • Entire Restaurant
    - Hosts a maximum of 120 guests. This includes the Formal Dining Room, Terrace and Upstairs Cocktail Lounge.
    - Works on a minimum spend of R85 200. This includes food and VAT.
    - The minimum spend excludes drinks and 10% gratuity of the total bill which should be settled at the end of the booking.
    Please Note: if the minimum spend is not reached, the balance goes towards Venue Hire.
  • Downstairs Formal Dining Room
    - Seats a maximum of 80 guests.
    - Our Formal Dining Room works on a minimum spend of R56 800. This includes food and VAT.
    - The minimum spend excludes drinks and 10% gratuity of the total bill which should be settled at the end of the booking.
    Please Note: if the minimum spend is not reached, the balance goes towards Venue Hire.
  • Cocktail lounge
    - Hosts a maximum of 50 guests standing and 35 guests seated.
    - The cocktail lounge works on a minimum spend of R28 400. This includes food and VAT.
    - The minimum spend excludes drinks and 10% of the total bill which should be settled at the end of the booking.

  • Private Dining Room
    - Seats a maximum of 12 guests.
    - Our Private Dining Room works on a minimum spend of R5 885. This includes food, drinks and 10% gratuity
    - A deposit of R2 500 is required to secure your booking.
  • Terrace
    - Seats a maximum of 30 guests.
    - The terrace works on a minimum spend of R23 000.
    This includes food and VAT.
    - The minimum spend excludes drinks and 10% gratuity of the total bill which should be settled at the end of the booking.

Venue Hire
Excludes food and beverage, please note we do not allow BYO on functions. You do not need to pay venue hire if you do not wish to have the venue exclusively. However, we do not allow bands, DJs or dance floors without exclusive venue hire of the entire restaurant as this can impact on other diners.

Please Note We Have A Strict No Smoking Policy
There is a smoking section on the front open deck, however, by law we are not allowed to permit smoking inside the restaurant, bar area or on any deck that is undercover. If one of your guests are caught smoking in a non - designated area, you will be liable to pay a fine of R500 per person. This will be added to your final bill. When making speeches or announcement, please let your guests know where the designated smoking area is.

Bookings
If you wish to book, a deposit of the venue hire is used to secure the venue. This is due no later than one month prior to your function and is not refundable within 2 weeks before the date of the function. Once you have confirmed numbers with us we do not issue refunds. When you EFT please use your name or company name and date of function as a reference. Please send us the pop.

Refunds On Minimum Spend
Please note if the minimum spend is not reached, the balance goes towards venue hire. There are NO refunds on minimum spend

Décor 
• NO balloons, NO confetti, NO lights 
• NO excessive décor unless you have booked an entire area exclusively.
• Flowers for the table are permitted.

Cakeage 
• R25 per person for each person who eats a slice of cake and does not order dessert off our dessert menu. If you order dessert off our menu the Cakeage fee will be waivered.

Corkage 
• Only wines and champagnes that are not sold by 9th are permitted.
• R150 per bottle of wine, R250 per bottle of MCC, R350 per bottle International Champagne. 
• BYO limited to 1 bottle per table. 
• NO BYO for parties of 10 people or more. 
• NO BYO in private dining.

Dress code 
• Slops, flip flops, and caps will be allowed for lunch service only.
• Strictly smart casual for dinner. 
• Men to wear closed shoes and long pants for dinner service.

Deposits/ Cancellations & No shows
• If you are more than 20 minutes late to your booking, you will forfeit your table and your deposit. 
• Deposits for bookings of 1 to 14 people will be paid through Dineplan at a cost of R100 per person for a la carte dining. 
• The R100 deposit amount is deducted from your final bill when you come to dine with us. 
• If you cancel 24 hours or more before your booking time, you will be refunded through Dineplan. 
• Bookings for 1 – 14 people: if you cancel within 24 hours your deposit will be forfeited.
• Corporate bookings and bookings larger than 14 people: if you cancel within 48 hours the deposit will be forfeited. 
• No shows will be charged at full price of the set menu, should you request a set menu.

Photography 
• NO flash photography is permitted unless you have booked out a floor of the restaurant exclusively. 
• Photography to be communicated in advance. 
• Photography to be done before service hours and to be completed before being seated. 
• Please refrain from standing in walkways for pictures, it is a potential risk of our staff bumping into you with hot plates and glassware

Children 
• Children under the age of 10 are permitted for lunch service. Dinner is reserved for patrons over the age of 10. 
• Children and young adults, under the age of 18, are not permitted in the bar area after 4pm even when supervised by an adult.

Dietary Requirements
• Please inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements within 24 hours of your booking so we may inform the kitchen.

Venue hires and capacity
• Hire of our exclusive spaces require a minimum charge that will be discussed based on your space of choice. 
• All minimums spend excludes service charge. 
• The hire of the entire restaurant has a seated capacity of 120 people.
• The hire of the Formal Dining Room has a seated capacity of 50 people.
• The hire of the Terrace has a seated capacity of 30 people. 
• The hire of the Terrace and Formal Dining Room has a seated capacity of 80 people. 
• The hire of the Private Dining Room has a seated capacity of 10 people.
• The hire of the cocktail bar has a seated capacity of 35, and a standing capacity of 50 people. This will include the entire floor & the private room. 
• Venue hires fees and deposits are to be paid no later than 2 weeks before your event.
• Bridal showers, baby showers, bachelorette parties are not permitted.

Venue Hire, booking costs and Minimum Spend (food and drinks)
• All Minimum Spend excludes Service Charge 
• To hire the entire restaurant costs R85 200 (incl VAT) – to be paid upfront. Excluding drinks and 10% gratuity of total bill - to be settled at the end of the booking 
• To hire the Formal Dining Room costs R56 800 (incl VAT) – to be paid upfront. Excluding drinks and 10% gratuity of total bill - to be settled at the end of the booking 
• To hire the Cocktail Lounge costs R28 400 (incl VAT) – to be paid upfront. Excluding drinks and 10% gratuity of total bill - to be settled at the end of the booking • To hire the Terrace costa R23 000 (incl VAT) – to be paid upfront.  Excluding drinks and 10% gratuity of total bill - to be settled at the end of the booking 
• To hire the Private Dining Room the Minimum, Spend R5350 and a deposit of R2500 is needed upfront

FIREARMS 
Guns, knives, or other weapons are strictly prohibited at 9th Avenue Waterside. Please keep them in your car or at home

CONDUCT 
• All guests are reminded to always carry themselves in a respectable and dignified manner. 
• Please be mindful of other guests as well as the environment.
